Core courses in Business, Communication, Management, Entrepreneurship not approved. Program study tours. Must take Danish language. 3.0 gpa required for admission. No credit for optional study tours. Students are encouraged to apply for DIS scholarships.
Two housing options: Homestay and Kollegium with Shared Kitchen. Homestay is the best ways to meet Danes. Bates approves only the Kollegium with Shared Kitchen option (not the private kitchen or apartment options). Commutes to housing can be more than 1 hour each way.
Large program with many Bates students; students seeking greater distance from Bates may wish to consider universities in the UK and Ireland, Maastricht University in The Netherlands, or programs such as the IES program in Amsterdam, or the College Year in Athens program.
