For Biology and Environmental Studies majors only. Three tracks: Evolution and Ecology; Marine Ecology (PADI certification req); People and the Environment (requires 2 sems of Spanish). Month in Quito (at University of San Francisco); 3 months on San Cristobal island. Bates requires the Spanish language course.

Comparative Ecology and Conservation; significant field work in the cloud forest, the rain forest, the Galapagos. Independent study project. Previous Biology or Environmental Studies required. Early application recommended. Students are encouraged to apply for SIT scholarships.
