NTI is a laboratory where you gain tangible tools while creating new work. From 9:00am to 10pm, seven days a week, you work with master teachers and create theater. This 14-week program trains you to function as a contributing member of an ensemble, invites you to find out what excites you about the art of theater, and gives you valuable skills to boldly apply that excitement and knowledge to your work. Conferring 20 credit hours, the NTI Semester is offered in the spring or fall semester.

New England: Semester Cinema

Semester Cinema is a biannual semester-long film intensive, offered alternate spring semesters, where 25 professionals mentor and collaborate with 40 students from multiple colleges to make an ambitious feature film for national and international release. Students attend a variety of classes, rooted in the liberal arts while fully participating in the deliberation and imagination of a screenplay from script to screen, and working in substantial roles under the guidance of experienced film and theater practitioners during production. Program includes 1 week at Sundance Film Festival, 11 weeks on Nantucket, 3 weeks at Northern Vermont University. Courses in cinema studies; screenwriting and directing; various craft workshops.
