Smaller university in a college town, good for ES and Music. Lots of outdoors activities. Earning a 3.0 gpa is a challenge without serious attention to coursework. Cooler setting. Paper = US course. Arcadia program costs $5,000+ extra (not addressed by Bates financial aid). Many students have positive evaluations of Arcadia services: pre-departure info; on-site orientation; day and weekend excursions; on-site support staff. Total enr: 20,000; # of Americans: 700
Search for courses ("papers"). Course selection: 72 points per semester; at least half the course load above the first year level. 100-level courses = Bates 100 level; 200-300 level courses = Bates 200 level and above. Paper = US course.
