Dance

NTI is a laboratory where you gain tangible tools while creating new work. From 9:00am to 10pm, seven days a week, you work with master teachers and create theater. This 14-week program trains you to function as a contributing member of an ensemble, invites you to find out what excites you about the art of theater, and gives you valuable skills to boldly apply that excitement and knowledge to your work. Conferring 20 credit hours, the NTI Semester is offered in the spring or fall semester.    

For Theater and Dance majors. Performance workshop incl. dance and acting; performance analysis; field study placement. Students attend at least three performances a week. Housing at 92nd St Y. Expensive program.

Program based at the University of Cape Town. Courses at University of Cape Town (one course must be South Africa-focused). Earning a 3.0 gpa at UCT requires serious attention to coursework and exams. Beautiful city with extremes of wealth and poverty and high crime rates that require careful attention.
Feb-June, July-Nov semesters. Total UCT enrollment: 25,500.

For Dance majors and minors only. Introduction to various dance genres; working excursion to Naples. Located in Arezzo, an historic hill town 50 miles from Florence. Italian language course required. Application requires submission of audition DVD.

Historic, multicultural city where religious diversity and tensions are visible. Prestigious university with a wide range of courses in English including religious studies, , psychology, dance and Arabic. More American students than at other Israeli universities. Total enrollment: 40,000

Quality program with a strong peer group from a consortium of American universities and colleges; liberal arts courses from Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology and Humanities, including those that compare Swedish and US social and economic policies. Based at the Stockholm School of Economics; opportunity to take courses with Swedish students and to access the university’s clubs, student organizations, facilities. Attractive, capital city on the water. English, Nordic skiing, and cool weather are common. Optional excursions to the island of Gotland (fall) and Arctic Circle (spring). An expensive city to live in and to travel from. Bates requires home stay.

Excellent program, popular, best for more independent students, lots of Paris contacts; limited number of program courses; university courses at multiple universities and institutes. University courses can be a challenging experience. Orientation in Paris. Early application. Language pledge.

"Australia Now" is considered a first year level course; Credit not awarded for courses in Faculty of Education designed primarily for study abroad students.
